About Me

I am a programmer/analyst at Vancouver Island University in beautiful Nanaimo British Columbia.

I am originally from the tiny village of Winchester Ontario but I have been a BC resident for 19 years. I moved to Vancouver in April of 1993 and lived in the city of Vancouver for 13½ years. During that time I was married and divorced and had a variety of different jobs from working at the Vancouver Airport in an industrial kitchen making meals and preparing meal trays for Canadian Airlines to running the Beach concession at 3rd beach in Stanley Park for 3 years. It was work in the food service industry that paid for my computer science education at Langara college which I finished in 2001.

In 1998 I went to Langara College to study Computer Science. I graduated at the top of my class with a 3.67 GPA from the Applied Computer Science and Technology program in 2001 and was immediately employed by the College to perform maintenance and customization work on their Sungard (now Elucian) Banner ERP system. I worked at Langara College until November 2006 when I accepted a similar position at Vancouver Island Univeristy.

In September of 2006 I applied for a programmer/analyst position advertised at VIU. I started at VIU in December of 2006 where I am currently employed. While employed at VIU I have an undergraduate degree in Digital Media Studies and Business. I completed my Bachelor or Arts in those subjects in 2013 and in 2014 I began the MBA/MScIB dual graduate degree program.
